CBDT has extended the due date of Income Tax return filing by a month to 31st August 2018 from present 31st July, 2018.

The following statement has been released by the Twitter handle of Minister of Finance.

“Upon consideration of the matter, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) extends the ‘Due Date’ for filing of Income Tax Returns from 31st July, 2018 to 31st August, 2018 in respect of the said categories of taxpayers.”

Several groups and professionals have requested for extention of date and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) did pay heed to their request by extending the due date.
