How to get PVC Aadhaar Card online – A new service by UIDAI

Having an Aadhaar card is becoming compulsory but carrying the same is becoming difficult, due to the sheer size of Aadhaar letter. To ease this problem UIDAI has come up with a new facility ‘Aadhaar PVC Card’. Now anyone can print PVC Aadhaar card online by visiting the UIDAI website and getting his Aadhaar PVC card home delivered for just Rs 50 (including GST and speed post charges).

The new multi-colour Aadhaar PVC card will be have the following security features:

  • Secure QR Code
  • Hologram
  • Guilloche Pattern
  • Ghost Image and Micro Text

We will go through the steps to know how to get PVC Aadhaar Card online with images for easy navigation.

Step 1: Open https://uidai.gov.in/ in your browser.

Step 2: Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ button on the menu bar, dropdown will appear, now click on ‘Order Aadhaar PVC card

Step 3: Once you click on ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card’ the following page will open:

Fill in your 12 digit Aadhaar number or 16 digit Virtual ID (VID) or Enrollment ID (EID) and then click on send OTP.    

You will receive a 6 digit code on your registered mobile number. Although you can also select another mobile number which is not registered or updated with UIDAI for receiving the OTP. The option is made available there.

Step 4: Once you enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and captcha image and click submit you will be taken to the final page where you will see the details as available with the UIDAI authority that will appear on your Aadhaar PVC card.

Note: If the details are not matching with details you wish to get printed on Aadhaar PVC card, then you must update the same before you apply for print of Aadhaar PVC card. You must go to nearest Aadhaar centre for required update in name or mobile number but for address update you can use the online facility.  

If your details are correct then you can proceed to make final payment of Rs 50 (including GST and Speed post charges) online. You can make the payment through: Credit/Debit card, Net Banking and UPI.

Step 5: Once final payment is made you will receive a ‘Payment receipt for Order Aadhaar card’ mentioning the date and time, SRN, receipt number and transaction id.

Step 6: Now you can wait for the Aadhaar PVC card to be delivered to your address and you can also check the status by going to the UIDAI website under My Aadhaar/Check Aadhaar PVC Card Status by filling in the SRN and Aadhaar number.

A: Airway Bill Number or AWB number is the tracking number that is generated by India Speed Post for the PVC Aadhaar card that they will deliver.

Q: What if residents want to get the Aadhaar Card printed with some changed details that they want?

A: If residents want some changes in the details of printed Aadhaar letter or Card, then they first get their Aadhaar updated with the details they wish on PVC Aadhaar card by visiting Permanent Enrollment Center or SSUP portal (depending on update). After the updates are reflecting online on the UIDAI portal then only raise the request because this facility is to get the hard copy of Aadhaar Card/Letter and not for doing some change to your Aadhaar details.

Q: What is the time period it will take to receive “Aadhaar PVC Card” after creating successful request?

A: After successful receipt of order for Aadhaar PVC Card from the resident, UIDAI will handover printed Aadhaar PVC Card to Department of Post (DoP) within 5 working days (excluding the date of request). Aadhaar PVC Card will be delivered using SPEED POST Service in line with DoP delivery norms and Delivery Status may be tracked using DoP Status Track Services.
